Education You Can Afford

EKU's tuition consistently ranks among the lowest for four-year institutions in Kentucky and the region. It's just one more way we put students first.

EKU awards numerous scholarships based on academic merit, special talents or accomplishments, and need. Eligibility for need-based scholarships and other forms of assistance is determined by your family's income and whether other family members are also attending a postsecondary institution. The scholarship deadline is April 1.

For full consideration for financial aid, you must first apply and be admitted to the university. Once you're admitted, complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1. You may obtain the FAFSA several ways: from your high school guidance counselor; via the internet at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov; by calling the EKU Financial Aid office at 859- 622-2361; or by calling the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 800-433-3243.

Full-Time Semester Tuition:
KY Resident: $3,040
Out-of-state: $8,306
A student may qualify for a special reduced semester rate of $4,798. To qualify, s/he must meet the full criteria for admission and at least one of the following:

Live in a neighboring county in a state bordering Kentucky.
Be the child of an EKU graduate.
Or have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and a composite score a of 25 or higher on the ACT, with no sub-score below 18 in English, Math, or Reading.

Part-Time (less than 12 credit hours) Semester Tuition:
Kentucky Residents: $253.34 per hour
Non-residents: $692.17 per hour
Targeted Out of State: $399.83 per hour

Note: Summer session charges are per credit hour for all courses.

Semester Housing Fees:
Double Occupancy Residence halls: $1,547 to $1,921
Private rooms: $2,370 to $2,729

Food:
Meal Plans range from $1,006 to $1,403 per semester.
