NOTE: The Board of Regents approved the Senate's recommendations for Promotion & Tenure at the January 18, 2008 meeting. The revised policy takes effect August 1, 2008. Because the policy now provides for a longer standard probationary period for tenure, faculty hired before the effective date of the revised policy--and therefore subject to a shorter standard probationary period--may request, if so desired, a one-year extension of a standard probationary period. All such requests for the one-year extension of the standard probationary period MUST be made by SEPTEMBER 1, 2008. This extension request does not preclude a tenure candidate from requesting other adjustments to the probationary period as allowed by the revised policy. The revised P & T policy can be accessed on the Policies webpage at http://www.policies.eku.edu/. (taken from 01-28-08 Academic Affairs memo)
