Alumni Weekend 2007
Make plans to attend Alumni Weekend 2007, April 27-29.
The classes of 1937, 1942, 1947, 1952, 1957, 1962, 1967, 1972 and 1977 will be recognized as reunion classes with the Class of 1957 being inducted as Pioneers!

Friday, April 27
All Day, Alumni House Welcome Station – Drop by for a visit!
House Opens at 8 a.m.
6:00 a.m. – 8 :00 p.m. - Wellness Center Open/Tours available
7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Java City Library Café open
7:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. – EKU Bookstore Open
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Visit EKU Archives located in Library 126
11:00 a.m. Registration for the 7th Annual James McChesney Memorial Golf Classic; Arlington Association Contact Jon McChesney, Department of Recreation and Park Administration, 859-622-1835 for registration information or at Jon.McChesney@eku.edu. Registration is $50 per player which includes green fees, golf cart, awards and dinner.
Noon – Shot-Gun Start for Memorial Golf Classic at Arlington Association
The format is 4-person teams playing best ball cart
Awards Dinner follows Golf tournament/ This event is sponsored by the Department of Recreation and Park Administration and Banana’s of Richmond (included in tournament registration fee.)
1 – 3 p.m. Open House to showcase the Geographic Information Sciences teaching laboratory. Alumni will have the opportunity to view displays as well as research. Room 202 Roark Building
1:30 to 2:30 p.m. – Student Health Services Open House. Student Health Services, Rowlett 103
2 – 3:30 p.m. “Early Bird” Registration– Pick up your Registration packet and event tickets in the Alumni House as you arrive on campus for the weekend festivities!
4:30 to 6 p.m. Estate Planning Session presented by Tom Arnold, Bill Melton and Barry Poynter. Keen Johnson Faculty Club Lounge. Refreshments served.
6 – 6:45 p.m. -- Welcome to Campus Reception held in the Stratton Building. This casual event is held prior to the Welcome Dinner/Dance and will give you a chance to meet and greet your former classmates, faculty and staff.
7 – 10 p.m. – Come celebrate at EKU’s own ‘Derby Event’ Wear your best Derby Attire and bring your dancing shoes! Dinner/Dance will be held in the Stratton Building. Enjoy a dinner meal followed by an evening of dancing to the sounds of the ‘40’s, ‘50’s ‘60’s and ‘70’s. Entertainment provided by DJ Josh Hale, ’03 of Phantom Entertainment Reservations are required for this event. Cost is $23 per person.
Saturday, April 28
EKU Jazz Festival, live jazz bands, food and drink
7:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – EKU Bookstore Open
8 a.m. – Alumni Board Meeting/Past President’s Breakfast
9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Java City Library Café open
9 a.m. -10 :30 .m. Weekend Registration continues at Keen Johnson Building
9 – 11 a.m. - ’37, ’42, ’47, ’52, ’57, ’62, ’67, ’72, ’77 Class Reunion Continental Breakfast in Walnut Hall
After you’ve registered, come join your classmates in Walnut Hall. Areas will be designated for your reunion year to give you an opportunity to chat with classmates, browse through the Milestone Yearbooks and ‘stroll down memory lane.’
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by the Jostens table in Keen Johnson Lobby. You will have the opportunity to view and/or order the Eastern Kentucky University Ring
10:00 a.m. – 6 :00 p.m. -- Wellness Center Open/Tours available
10:30 a.m. Class Reunion Photographs—Keen Johnson Building
Each reunion class will have their class photograph taken on the front steps of the Keen Johnson Building. We will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Class of ’37 with Classes of ’42, ’47 ’52, ’57, ’62, ’67, ’72 and ’77 following.

1-4 - Campus Tours – Keen Johnson Building, Take a driving tour of campus guided by Student Alumni Ambassadors. Tours will leave from the Daniel Boone Statue every 20 minutes.
1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – ROTC Open house in Begley 5th floor. See the demonstrations of the new Engagement Skills Trainer (EST) and Combative Room. Alumni will be invited to shoot on the EST. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres served.
1:30 to 3:30 p.m. - Student Government Association, Alumni Event Powell Building
1:30 p.m. – Check-in for Pioneers Induction Ceremony
This ceremony honors those members of the Class of ’57. We will also honor those members of the Class of ’56 and beyond who have not been previously inducted. Alumni, family and friends are invited to attend this ceremony. Inductees and current Pioneers need to check in at the information desk.
2:00 p.m. – Pioneer Induction Ceremony, Keen Johnson Building, Walnut Hall
Reception Following induction ceremony—Join the New Pioneer Inductees at a reception in Keen Johnson
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. – University Libraries and the College of Education will jointly host tours of the Archives, Learning Resource Center and other main library sites. Tour begins in the Library Café
2:00 p.m. Hummel Planetarium and Space Theater Children’s Show “The Secret of the Cardboard Rocket” (Cost is $3 per person)
2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. - MBA Open House followed by tours of the new College of Business and Technology Building
2:30 p.m. Tours of the new College of Business and Technology Building
2:30 p.m. – Athletic Update-- Join us for an update on EKU Athletic programs
2:30 p.m. Campus Historical Walking Tour
3 - 4 p.m. - Open House at Burnam Hall. Come join with us and other alums as we catch up on some of our favorite memories as well as getting a view of what living on campus today is like.
3:30 p.m. - Hummel Planetarium and Space Theater Show “More than Meets the Eye”

6:30 p.m. Alumni Awards and Recognition Banquet—Keen Johnson Building, Grand Ballroom
