New Facility Dedicated to Researching Alternative Fuel Technologies

A new research facility at Eastern Kentucky University “will help Kentucky lead the way in the development of new, alternative forms of energy,” Sixth District Congressman Ben Chandler said at dedication ceremonies for the Center for Renewable and Alternative Fuel Technologies (CRAFT).

Large Animal Rescue Training to Return to EKU in 2011

First responders, emergency medical technicians, veterinarians, firefighters, and other emergency/rescue personnel are encouraged to register for one of the best annual training opportunities in the U.S. – the Technical Large-Animal Emergency Rescue Training provided cooperatively by USRider and Eastern Kentucky University.

Hansen Re-Elected Region 5 SPJ Director

Dr. Elizabeth Hansen, professor of communication at Eastern Kentucky University, has been re-elected to a second two-year term as Region 5 director of the Society of Professional Journalists.

As a director, Hansen will continue to serve on SPJ’s national board of directors and will be responsible for serving the organization’s chapters in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.

Eastern Kentucky University President Doug Whitlock, Executive Vice President for Administration Harry Moberly Jr. and the University’s Center for Renewable and Alternative Fuel Technologies will be among the honorees at Bluegrass Tomorrow’s Vision Awards Breakfast on Friday, Oct. 29.
