Business Student Organization Prepares Care Packages for Troops

Members of Eastern Kentucky University’s Maroon SHRM (Society of Human Resources Management) student organization recently prepared care packages to send to troops stationed away from home during this holiday season.

Bechtel Parsons Assists Student Veteran Relief Fund

Eastern Kentucky University has received more than $7,000 in employee donations and matching funds from Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass for the University’s Student Veteran Relief Fund endowment project.

The Fund is being developed as part of EKU Operation Veteran Success, a series of initiatives designed to make Eastern an even more veteran-helpful campus.

EKU Plays Role in Selection of White Hall as National Historic Site in Journalism

The Society of Professional Journalists has named White Hall State Historic Site, home of newspaper publisher Cassius Marcellus Clay, as the 2011 National Historic Site in Journalism thanks in large part to the efforts of Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Communication, which nominated Clay’s historic home for the honor.

Noel Studio Director Honored by National Communication Association

National recognition continues to shower Eastern Kentucky University’s innovative Noel Studio for Academic Creativity. Now it has extended to its director, Dr. Russell (Rusty) Carpenter, who earned the Von Till Outstanding Newcomer Award presented by the National Association of Communication Centers (NACC).
