EKU Earns More Than $303,000 in Energy Efficiency Rebates from KU

Eastern Kentucky University has received more than $303,000 in energy efficiency rebates from Kentucky Utilities Company’s Commercial Rebate Program. The program is designed to offer qualified commercial customers of KU and Louisville Gas and Electric Company cash incentives to replace aging, less efficient equipment and lighting.

Conferences Will Serve to Showcase Noel Studio for Academic Creativity

Eastern Kentucky University’s Noel Studio for Academic Creativity will be showcased nationally next year when two organizations bring conferences to campus.

In spring 2012, the Noel Studio will be the hub for conferences of the National Association of Communication Centers and the Southeastern Writing Center Association.

Nursing Professor Named to National Committee

Abney Re-Elected Chair of Board of Regents

The Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents unanimously re-elected Gary Abney, of Richmond, to a second term as chair at its regularly scheduled meeting on Jan. 26.

Music Department Adds Seven Petrof Grand Pianos

Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Music recently added seven Petrof grand pianos to its collection of instruments available for use by students and faculty members.

The Petrof piano factory was founded in 1864 in the Czech Republic and is Europe’s largest piano builder.

Commercial Foods Lab Opens in Burrier, Restaurant to Follow
