The 2013-14 Chautauqua series at Eastern Kentucky University will explore the theme “Beauty Matters” through 15 lectures by many internationally prominent authors, artists and experts, as well as a nationwide juried art exhibition.

Professor Receives Honor From University in Slovenia

Dr. Chuck Fields, a professor in the School of Justice Studies at Eastern Kentucky University, will be awarded the title of “Honorary Senator” by the University of Maribor in Slovenia for his significant contributions to the development of research at the institution.

Aalberts Named Executive Director of Center for the Arts

Joel Aalberts has been selected as executive director of the Eastern Kentucky University Center for the Arts.

The appointment was announced after a meeting of the Center’s Community Operations Board on Wednesday, July 17.

Professor, Students Sampling Well Water to Assess Environmental Risks

Collecting water samples in front of a Manchester store, an Eastern Kentucky University student is proud of the work he is doing in Southeast Kentucky.

“Knowing we are helping people increase their knowledge about something that impacts them daily is the most amazing and rewarding feeling I’ve ever had,” said senior environmental health science major Josh Ruehl.

EKU Names Eastman Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations

Dr. E. Michael Eastman has been named vice president for Development and Alumni Relations at Eastern Kentucky University.

Eastman, vice president for university advancement at Indiana’s Manchester University since 2005, will bring nearly 30 years of fundraising experience to the position. He will join the Eastern staff on Aug. 1.
