Access CARES reports anytime, any place through the Internet!
CARES Reports are created for undergraduate students by EKU's degree Audit system.

CARES is your academic roadmap: it shows where you've been, where you are and where you need to go as you pursue your degree. When your degree goals change your CARES changes, as well.

  1. Access EKU homepage (www.eku.edu). Click on EKU Direct Icon on left side of page. Click orange "Log in Now" button. (First-time EKU Direct users should click "1. LOGIN Directions" link and read instructions before proceeding.)
  2. Enter ID (SS#) and PIN (six-digit number that you made up).
  3. Once into your account click on 'Student Services and Financial Aid' then 'Student Records' then 'EKU CARES.'
  4. On the following screen, you will have the choice to 'Submit an Audit' or 'View an Audit'.
  5. Select 'Submit an Audit'.
  6. Next, you have the option to 'Run Audit' or 'What-If?'.
  7. Choose 'Run Audit' and then 'View Submitted Audits' to go to your report. [NOTE:  Graduate students must change majors through the Graduate School office.]
  8. If the system has had time to run your audit, you will see a link under the "View Link" column, which lists your current major. Click that link to view your report. This screen allows you to view your report with unmet areas showing in yellow and unmet course requirements showing in red. Click the red arrow at the left of an area to "fast-forward" to that part of your CARES. Clicking the red arrow, again, returns you to the "table of contents."
  9. There is a link at the top to 'View a Printer Friendly Report.' Use this to reduce paper consumption. Select the print button on your computer.)

    "What-If" CARES Reports**

  10. A "What-If" CARES Report shows how your course credits and requirements would change if you were to change your major. To run a "What-If?" follow steps ONE through SIX. Then select the "What-If?" option.
  11. Choose the college offering the degree you wish to preview using the pull-down menu, then click "Select." Then choose the degree of that major (e.g. Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Arts, etc.). Finally, select the major you wish to preview. If there are concentrations, select those as well (if this is an option it will appear after selecting the degree).
  12. Click the "Run Analysis" button and on the following screen click "View Submitted Audits".
  13. If the system has had time to run your analysis, you will see a link under the "View Link" column, which lists your current major. Click that link to view your report. This screen allows you to view your report with unmet areas showing in yellow and unmet course requirements showing in red. There is a link at the top to "View a Printer Friendly Report."
    Notes:
  • **It is not possible to run a 'What-If?' report with double majors or minors.
  • **Students with double majors who run a 'What-If?' will have their second major continue to appear on the report.
  • **To run a "What-If?" report for pre-professional majors, first choose the appropriate college for that degree; then, in "Select Degree," choose "Undeclared." Finally, choose the appropriate pre-professional major.
  • Graduate, non-degree, Jump Start, visiting, and high-school special students do not receive CARES Reports.

If you find any problems on your CARES report, please notify the Advising Center, SSB 347 (859-622-2276) or the Center Director at the extended campuses.

CARES Reports will be available only through the web. You will not receive one through the mail.
