Eastern Kentucky University President Michael Benson has been named co-chair of Bluegrass Tomorrow’s Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium.
Benson, who assumed the EKU presidency in August 2013, will serve alongside John Roush, president of Centre College.
Eastern Kentucky University is one of 12 universities in the Bluegrass Region who have agreed to collaborate to improve educational attainment and economic opportunity for central Kentuckians. The new Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium was formalized by the signing of a charter agreement at the annual breakfast meeting of Bluegrass Tomorrow at Keeneland on Feb. 29.
The EKU Center for the Arts at Eastern Kentucky University has received the 2011 Vision Award for Innovation from Bluegrass Tomorrow.
Eastern Kentucky University President Doug Whitlock, Executive Vice President for Administration Harry Moberly Jr. and the University’s Center for Renewable and Alternative Fuel Technologies will be among the honorees at Bluegrass Tomorrow’s Vision Awards Breakfast on Friday, Oct. 29.
