Amidst all the ongoing positive changes at Eastern Kentucky University, among the constants is the careful attention paid to the trees of every shape, size and species that dot the campus landscape.
The Division of Natural Areas at Eastern Kentucky University has learned that it will receive the 2014 Outstanding Organization Award presented by the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education.
Representatives of the Division will be on hand to receive the honor at the Association’s fall conference on Sept. 13 in Lexington.
The Taylor Fork Ecological Area on the south side of the Eastern Kentucky University campus received a recent boost from McDonald’s of Richmond.
McDonald’s donated 500 bur oaks to the University as part of the National Arbor Day celebration. Student and faculty volunteers were on hand to plant the trees on Thursday, April 17.
The Richmond campus of Eastern Kentucky University, long known for its landscaping beauty, will soon be getting even greener.
And not just because Spring is around the proverbial corner.
