Eastern Kentucky University President Michael Benson will be among the panelists and moderators at the Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium’s second annual Presidents’ Conference on Thursday, Oct. 31.

The theme of this year’s conference, to be held at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort in Lexington, is “Dream It, Achieve It? Attaining Goals Previously Unimagined.”

Benson will participate in a luncheon panel discussion entitled “Mobilizing the Village: There Must Be Collaboration between Higher Education, Secondary Education, Business and Government to Achieve College and Career Readiness and STEM Preparedness.” He also will moderate an “Overview of College and Career Readiness Committee’s Work in 2013.”

The Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium was chartered in 2012 with the mission of advancing the region both economically and educationally.  In addition to EKU, participating institutions are Asbury University, Berea College, Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Centre College, Georgetown College, Midway College, Morehead State University, Kentucky State University, Sullivan University, Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky.  The presidents of each institution constitute the executive committee of the board of directors.

The public is invited to attend the conference. Registration for the full conference is $80 per person. For more information, or to register, visit www.bluegrasstomorrow.org.
