The Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents, meeting in regular session on Monday, Jan. 13, welcomed two new members and elected officers.

The Board’s newest members are Alan Long, CPA and managing partner of Baldwin CPAs, PLLC, in Richmond; and Holly Wiedemann, Wilmore, an architect, developer and founder of AU Associates in Lexington.

Long, who earned a bachelor’s degree from EKU in 1979, was appointed by Gov. Steve Beshear to fill the unexpired term of Anita Johnson, who resigned from the Board. The unexpired term ends June 30, 2014.

Wiedemann, whose firm specializes in the restoration and adaptation of historic buildings for new uses, was appointed to replace Gary Abney, whose term had expired. Wiedemann’s term expires June 30, 2019.

The Board re-elected as officers Craig Turner, chair; Ernie House, vice chair; Steve Fulkerson, secretary; and Barry Poynter, treasurer.

The meeting was held in the Foster Building, as part of an effort to rotate the meetings between the University’s academic colleges, and included performances by EKU music students.
