Business Professor Receives Two Outstanding Educator Awards
Dr. Marcel Robles, professor of corporate communication in Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Management, Marketing and International Business, received two 2012 Outstanding Educator Awards at the Federation of Business Disciplines (FBD) Conference, held in New Orleans Feb. 29-March 3.
Robles was honored by both the Association for Business Communication-Southwest (ABC-SW) and the Association for Business Information Systems (ABIS) at the international FBD meeting, held annually for members of disciplines common to business administration.
Marsha Bayless, president of FBD, noted that this was the first time someone had received Outstanding Educator Awards from two different associations in the same year since the conference began in 1974.
Robles, who joined the EKU faculty in 2002, serves on ABC’s International Board of Directors and is a past president of ABC-SW. She is currently the editor for the Journal of Research in Business Information Systems, published annually by ABIS.
The Association for Business Communication is an international organization divided into eight regional divisions that is committed to fostering excellence in business communication scholarship, research, education, and practice.
The Association for Business Information Systems is one of 12 FBD professional associations that focus on the promotion and improvement of research and educational activities of schools and colleges of business administration.
