College Factual Ranks EKU among Best Colleges Nationwide
Eastern Kentucky University has scored high in another national ranking of U.S. colleges and universities.
EKU is among the 1,394 Best Colleges Nationwide, according to College Factual (www.collegefactual.com), out of a total of approximately 6,600 accredited postsecondary institutions across the U.S. The web site rated Eastern 230th among the 361 Best Colleges in the South.
In addition, EKU ranks 712th out of 1,223 Best Colleges Nationwide for Your Money and 182 out of 314 in the Best Colleges for the Money in the Southeast.
“These (Best Colleges for the Money) rankings look at the quality and average cost of each college, as well as the average time it takes a student to graduate,” the web site says. “The colleges are then ranked based on the value of the education you will receive for the amount of money you will spend. This allows you to spot colleges that might cost less, but still provide you with a solid four-year undergraduate education that is equal to or better than higher-cost schools.”
The web site also ranks Eastern 16th nationally among Best Colleges for Veterans. (Military Times EDGE magazine has twice ranked EKU No. 1 nationally in its Best for Vets listings.)
College Factual released its 2015 rankings in collaboration with its domestic rankings partner, USA Today, as well as its international rankings partner, The Wall Street Journal Asia.
Earlier this summer, Forbes ranked Eastern among “America’s Best Colleges” for the seventh consecutive year, essentially placing it among the top 10 percent of colleges and universities. Also, U.S. News & World Report places Eastern in the top tier of Regional Universities in the South in its 2014 edition of “Best Colleges.”
