Health Care Clinics Coming to Regional Campuses

Posted: August 17, 2011

Eastern Kentucky University students attending regional campuses in Corbin, Danville and Manchester will be able to take advantage of many University healthcare services closer to home beginning this fall.

After considering several options to give regional campus students many of the healthcare services enjoyed by students at the main campus in Richmond, small clinics have been created on the Corbin, Danville and Manchester campuses and will be open to currently enrolled students one day a week.

Jill Petrey, EKU’s Student Affairs Coordinator for Regional Campuses, worked with Student Health Services Director Dr. Pradeep Bose and regional campus directors Sandra Stevens of Corbin, Cindy Peck of Danville and Terry Gray of Manchester to make the new clinics a reality.

Bose will travel to each of the campuses once a week with a clinical support staff member to staff the one-day clinics, which will begin the second week of classes in Danville and Manchester, and in Corbin in mid-September.

A clinic will be offered in Corbin on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in Danville on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and in Manchester on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students can be seen on a walk-in basis, but are encouraged to make appointments. To schedule an appointment, call 606-528-0551 (Corbin), 859-236-6866 (Danville) or 606-598-8122 (Manchester).
