Parrish Inducted as President of ISPN

Dr. Evelyn Parrish, co-director of the EKU Online graduate nursing programs at Eastern Kentucky University, was inducted as the 2013-2014 president of the International Society of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses (ISPN) at the organization’s 15th annual meeting in San Antonio, April 16-21.

“I am very excited and honored to be the president of the ISPN and look forward to assisting the organization to continue influence healthcare policy and promote accessible care for those suffering from mental illness,” Parrish said.

Nearly 230 were in attendance from the United States, Australia, Canada and Great Britain. Delegates included professional nurses who practice, teach, conduct research, or study in the specialty of psychiatric-mental health nursing, as well as those who by practice, advocacy or research dedicate their time to assisting patients and families dealing with mental illness.

EKU Online graduate nursing programs at EKU include MSN programs in Psychiatric-Mental Health, Family Nurse Practitioner and Public Health Nursing, as well as a Doctorate of Nursing Practice. Parrish is the coordinator of the EKU Online MSN-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree program.
