President Benson Using Twitter to Help Tell University's Story
Want to learn more about new and exciting developments at Eastern Kentucky University?
One new option is to follow EKU President Michael Benson on Twitter.
With hundreds of followers already at @EKUPrez, Benson is lending his personal touch to the EKU story.
“This is a way to get messages out about what is happening on campus,” he said. “I plan on limiting my tweets to just EKU-related items that I hope will be of interest to friends of the University. It’s a great way to stay connected with today’s tech-savvy students, but also a medium through which alumni can stay in touch as well.”
EKU’s 12th president acknowledged he’s “somewhat of a novice at ‘tweeting,’ but I think I’ll get the hang of it. I’m excited to use this method of communication about all the incredible things our faculty, staff and students are doing at EKU.”
Benson assumed the Eastern presidency on Aug. 1 this year after seven years at the helm of Southern Utah University.
Eastern Kentucky University is a comprehensive university serving approximately 16,000 students on its Richmond campus, at its educational centers in Corbin, Danville, Manchester, Somerset and Lancaster, and throughout Kentucky.
