String Orchestra, Brass Choir to Present Concerts Nov. 9
The Eastern Kentucky University Department of Music will present two concerts Sunday, Nov. 9.
First, the String Orchestra will perform at 3 p.m. in Walnut Hall in the Keen Johnson Building. The orchestra is conducted by Jeremy Mulholland, and the program will include J. S. Bach’s “Concert for Oboe and Violin in C Minor,” G. Tartini’s “Concert for Cello in D. Major,” and Bach’s “Concert for Two Violins in D Minor.”
The Brass Choir, under direction of Dr. Joseph Van Fleet and James Willett, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Brock Auditorium in the Coates Building. The group will perform “When Death at Last My Spirit Calls” by Nikolaus Herman, “Ballad for Bass and Percussion” by Richard Maltby, “Motet ‘Laudate Dominum in Tympanis’” by G. Pierluigi Da Palestrina, “Canzon Quarti Toni from ‘Sacrae Symphoniae’” by Giovanni Gabrieli, “Another Cat-Kraken” by Chriz Hazell, and “Farandole from ‘Suite Arlésienne No. 2’” by Georges Bizet.
