Student Receives Phi Upsilon Omicron Scholarship
Eastern Kentucky University student Caylen Badgett, Louisville, has received the Jackman Scholarship through Phi Upsilon Omicron (Phi U), a national honorary for family and consumer sciences.
Badgett, a family and consumer science education major at EKU, was cited for her “willingness to help others” and her “significant contributions within the community through her many service activities.”
As Phi U vice president over the professional project at EKU this year, Badgett pulled together all members in each Family and Consumer Sciences area to work on mutual causes, such as assisting teen mothers.
Badgett has been selected as the Region 2 Collegiate Representative for Phi U for the next two years. As president of the EKU student section of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, she was very successful at spearheading multiple projects. This fall, Badgett will assume the role of Student Unit Chair for the Kentucky Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
