Course Title: Management Information Systems
Course Section Information: : “CIS 300 - Management Information Systems. (3) I, II. Prerequisites: ACC 201, 202 and ECO 230 with a grade of “C-” or better in each course; junior standing (a minimum of 60 hours) with an overall minimum of 2.0 GPA. Role of information systems in supporting managers, decision making and organizational goals; planning and managing e-business systems; global competition; social and ethical issues.”

Registration Requirements: 
Course will use of both Blackboard and online tutorials. Homework assignments require use of Microsoft Access 2007 and Excel 2007.
Students must have access to a computer at home or work with high-speed Internet access. Students also must have ready access to Microsoft Access 2007 and Excel 2007. Course assignments require features not available in Office 2003/2002, or OpenOffice database and OpenOffice spreadsheet. Access 2007 and Excel 2007 are available in EKU student computer labs in Richmond and branch campuses. Student may purchase MS Office at the Computer Store in the Student Services Bldg. in Richmond or online at http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx for $60-$65.
There is no required textbook for Access 2007 and Excel 2007. Online tutorials will be available for students to learn how use the features needed for course assignments. It is the student's responsibility to use these resource.
