CHAUTAUQUA: R. Carlos Nakai to Present a Native American Flute Concert (Date & Venue Change)
The haunting Native American flute melodies of R. Carlos Nakai have captivated listeners around the world for nearly three decades.
On Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m., the world’s premier performer of the Native American flute (www.rcarlosnakai.com/biography.php) will bring his magic to the EKU Center for the Arts.
Note that both the date and the venue have changed from the original schedule.
Nakai will perform both traditional songs of various tribes and modern improvisations, accented with stories that describe the evocative music created on the cedar flute.
The concert, part of EKU’s 2012-13 Chautauqua Lecture Series and the keynote presentation for Native American Heritage Month, is free and open to the public.
No ticket or prior registration is required.
Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Proof-of-attendance slips will be available.
