CHAUTAUQUA: Speaker Suggestions Solicited for 2013-2014
The Chautauqua Lecture Series Committee has chosen BEAUTY broadly construed as the theme for the series for the next academic year, AY 2013-2014. Our series aims to explore the many dimensions of this theme (beauty in nature, art, life, etc.) and encourage critical reflections on it. As usual, we strive to approach the theme from a large variety of disciplinary and professional perspectives (beauty in sport, architecture, mathematics, etc.) and tackle a wide range of provocative and fundamental issues. Ideally, a Chautauqua Lecturer is an expert eminently qualified to shed light on the theme and possessed of superb public speaking skills. We favor those who are not only brilliant communicators of difficult concepts but also marvelous storytellers. We are soliciting suggestions for speakers suitable to this theme.
