CHAUTAUQUA: Mike Kim, Author and Humanitarian, on Escaping North Korea

  
Author and humanitarian Mike Kim will present “North Korea-China: A Modern Day Underground Railroad” on Thursday, January 24 at 7:30 pm in O’Donnell Hall of the Student Success Building.

Kim will tell the story of how he left his financial business in Chicago, moved to the China-North Korean border, and began to operate undercover as a student of taekwondo while leading North Korean refugees to safety via a 6,000-mile underground railroad that led from Pyongyang to Bangkok.

Kim’s visit includes:
• Discussion: 4:45-5:45 pm, Room 201, Crabbe Library.
• Dinner: 6:00-7:15 pm, Faculty Dining Room, Powell Building.
• Lecture and Q&A: 7:30-9:00 pm, O’Donnell Hall, SSB.
• Book Signing: 9:00-9:30 pm, O’Donnell Hall, SSB.

Free and open to the public, the above events are sponsored by the EKU Cultural Center and the Office of Student Life.
