African American Read-In

  
The AARI is sponsored by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English and is endorsed by the International Reading Association. EKU is serving as a host institution for this event in order to raise an awareness of African and African American literature. EKU faculty, staff, administrators and students, along with area high school students are invited to read a 3-5 minute excerpt from favorite African and African and African American writings. Reading material will be provided and sign-ups are at the door.

Drop in and enjoy free food, fun, giveaways, and great African and African American Literature. Enjoy a special guest performance featuring famous jazz saxophonist Ron Jones.

Sponsored by the African/African-American Studies Program, Honors Program, EKU Libraries,Housing, EKU Student Life, EKU Admissions, Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, and the Department of English and Theater.
