African/African American Studies Program Book Drive

The African/African American Studies Program is hosting a book drive this month to benefit the Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy in Memphis, Tennessee. The Martin Luther King Jr. Academy is an alternative school for at-risk youth in grades 6-12. As you may remember, AFA visited the school in 2011 and donated enough books to start a library in the school. We need your help! We want to collect more books to help build MLK Jr. Academy’s library to enrich the lives of their students, providing them with opportunities they would otherwise not have. Donations of any and all books (new and used) would be much appreciated. Books can be dropped off at the AFA Office in Miller 110 between February 18 and March 8th. You may also call the AFA office at 859-622-1299 for us to pick up the books.

Thank you for your assistance.

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm  Location: Miller 110
Contact Information: Evelyn Jones, 622-1299
