Seniors - Apply before February 14th if you are planning to student teach in August 2013. Stop by Powell Corner this week between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to buy tickets for Jock N' Roll, an all-EKU-athlete talent show that will be held in Brock Auditorium on Feb. 12th at 9pm. All proceeds go toward sending four EKU military veterans to the OVC basketball tournament in March as part of the Hoops for Heroes project.
Tickets may also be purchased in the Bratzke Center, located in Alumni Coliseum RM 103 at anytime before the event.
Donations are welcome as well!

Join us during spring break in Charleston, SC for a week of fun with Habitat for Humanity, in their mission towards affordable housing. No prior knowledge needed, you will be shown how to do anything needed to build the Habitat House.
The $235.00 fee covers lodging, travel, and food for the week.

Seniors/Student Teacher Candidates! If you anticipate Student Teaching in August 2013, you must apply through EKU Direct for student teaching. Guest speaker, Mr. Josh Salyer, PHR, will be coming to speak with us about his experience in the field of management. He is currently the Human Resource Supervisor for NACCO Materials Handling Group located in Berea, KY. NACCO was recently honored with the title of Top Plant in the nation for 2011 and Mr. Salyer was a great contributing factor in winning this award.

It's time once again to sign-up for our annual summer service trip to New Orleans brought to you by The Office of Community Service and the co-ed service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. The trip will begin on Sunday, May 12th and will return on Sunday, May 19th. We will be working with the St. Bernard Project to restore homes from the damage of Hurricane Katrina. The total cost of the trip will be $315 per person (this includes most meals, van costs, and lodging).

An Oxford-style debate will examine the topic of reparations for slavery in the United States. The debate is part of EKU's year-long observance of the Civil War. Participants in the debate, all members of the EKU faculty, will be Dr. Mike Austin, Dr. Gregg Gunderson, and Dr. Laura Newhart. The moderator will be Dr. Patrick Nnoromele. Proof of attendance sheets will be available at the event for instructors wishing to give credit for attendance.
