Join the EKU Energy Club in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity this Saturday, March 23rd to help provide affordable homes for Madison County residents. We'll be deconstructing a garage deconstruct a garage and we will be recycling the materials, siding and lumber for future projects. No construction skill necessary!

We'll meet in the CRAFT parking lot (behind the Carter Ag Building) at 9:45 and travel to the site location in downtown Richmond. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization and ecumenical Christian ministry that works in partnership with people in need to build simple, decent, affordable housing.

I hope your spring break was relaxing and spectacular. Hope you didn't work too hard because now it's time to buckle down. We only have six weeks left. Make the most of it.

Don't forget, the EKU Toastmasters club is here to help you make the most of your spring semester here at Eastern Kentucky University. Help eliminate hunger in our community! Spend a few hours of your Saturday volunteering at God's Food Pantry in Lexington, KY. We will be sorting and repackaging bulk food items for easier distribution to those in need.

There are still a few spots left for our annual summer service trip to New Orleans brought to you by The Office of Community Service and the co-ed service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. The trip will begin on Sunday, May 12th and will return on Sunday, May 19th. We will be working with the St. Bernard Project to restore homes from the damage of Hurricane Katrina. The total cost of the trip will be $315 per person (this includes most meals, van costs, and lodging).

EKU music student Jason Farris will perform his senior composition recital on Thursday, March 28th at 6pm in the Gifford Theater. Free and open to the public.

EKU music students will perform a joint piano recital on Sunday, March 24th at 7pm in the Gifford Theater. Free and open to the public.

This conference is designed to provide educational and networking opportunities for Latino stduents, as well as expose them to role models, etiquette, and the "unwritten rules" of success.

Mileage reimbursements are available to student groups who travel together. Students must register by Friday, March 22 to receive mileage. The conference is FREE and includes breakfast, lunch, refreshments, materials and invaluable information and networking opportunities designed to empower college student success and professional development.

EKU music student Peter Boyer will perform his graduate percussion recital on Thursday, March 21st at 6pm in the Gifford Theater. Free and open to the public.

Provide you with all the information needed to belay at the EKU Climbing Wall. Once you have completed the workshop, you will be tested on your newly learned skills. This certification is good for the remainder of the school year. (Only for current EKU students and Faculty/Staff members of the facility)

Members of the EKU community are invited to bring and present works of creative writing in an open mic format. While presentations are limited to 7 minutes, participants are welcome to present multiple pieces.
