Capoeira: Brazilian Martial Arts Class
Capoeira is a martial art developed in Brazil by African slaves more than 400 years ago. It is a form that blends music, singing, dance, acrobatics, and self-defense. Also, it helps practitioners to develop confidence, diversity, friendships and allows one to become in touch with tradition and a rich sense of the historic heritage. Anyone can start Capoeira. This class welcomes students of all skill levels, cultural backgrounds, ages and body types to train together to develop a strong respect and community bond. If you are interested, there is still time to register for Capoeira classes for Spring 2010. Capoeira classes are offered through the Exercise & Sport Science Department.
