Eastern Progress Staff Members Capture KPA Awards

Staff members of The Eastern Progress, the student-produced weekly newspaper at Eastern Kentucky University, captured 10 awards in the University Division of the Kentucky Press Association 2012 Excellence in Kentucky Newspaper Awards contest.

The awards were presented Jan. 25 during KPA’s winter convention at the Brown Hotel in Louisville.

Strada Honored by Alpha Phi Omega

John Strada, a senior lecturer in Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Communications, received the Phyllis C. Tenney National Excellence in Advising Award from Alpha Phi Omega.

The competitive award is given to a chapter adviser once every two years to recognize exemplary service over a substantial period of time.

School of Business Maintains Prestigious AACSB Accreditation

With its recent re-accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Eastern Kentucky University’s School of Business has again earned a distinction that less than 5 percent of the world’s business programs can claim.
