Kentucky National Guard Staff

Greetings Veterans Studies Students,

I’m Christopher Williams, an Army Staff Sergeant and advisor to the Kentucky Center for Veterans Studies on matters related to the Kentucky National Guard (KY-NG). My role with KCVS is to facilitate research and service learning opportunities for students, build relationships between the KY-NG and the surrounding community, and educate the public about our history, mission, and values.

I am also a Recruitment and Retention NCO here at Eastern. If you are thinking about joining the National Guard and need mentorship and guidance, reach out. I’m passionate about helping people start their military careers and finance their college educations.

Need more primary sources for your paper? I’m your guy. Let me know if you are conducting research or seeking general information about the KY-NG for a college assignment. If I can’t answer your question, I am sure I can find someone who can.

A little about me, I’ve served in the Guard for more than a decade and am originally from Springfield, KY. I am trained in two Military Occupational Specialties (MOS): Electronic Warfare (17E) and as a Forward Observer (13F). My wife is a graduate of the Master’s program in Occupational Therapy here at EKU, and we have a six-year-old daughter.

If you are thinking about joining, supporting, or researching the Kentucky National Guard contact me at the info provided below. Say “hello” if I come to visit one of your Veterans Studies classes. I am always inspired by KCVS students and their desire to give back to the veteran community. If I can ever do anything to support you, just let me know.

-Chris
