Benson Co-Chairs Bluegrass Tomorrow's Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium
Eastern Kentucky University President Michael Benson has been named co-chair of Bluegrass Tomorrow’s Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium.
Benson, who assumed the EKU presidency in August 2013, will serve alongside John Roush, president of Centre College.
“We’re very pleased that President Benson has agreed to co-chair the Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium with President Roush,” said Bluegrass Tomorrow Executive Director Rob Rumpke. “He will bring great higher education to community based experience and focus to the consortium, and his leadership is very important in working to advance the region both academically and economically.”
The Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium was chartered in 2012 with the mission of advancing the region both economically and educationally. In addition to EKU, participating institutions are Asbury University, Berea College, Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Centre College, Georgetown College, Midway College, Morehead State University, Kentucky State University, Sullivan University, Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky. The presidents of each institution constitute the executive committee of the board of directors.
