Colonel Fans Encouraged to Support EKU in College Colors Day Competition

Eastern Kentucky University is participating again in the annual College Colors Day spirit competition and is asking for fan support to help win the national Spirit Cup award, which includes $10,000 toward its general scholarship fund and a chance for some lucky individual to win an all-expenses-paid trip to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

The Spirit Cup is a points-based rivalry competition that utilizes social media platforms to crown its champion. Colonel fans can earn points for EKU by showcasing their school spirit on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #collegecolors and #GoBigE. Bonus points can be earned by sharing those posts via the College Colors Day app (available at The school with the most points at the end of the competition will be crowned the Spirit Cup champion and receive a $10,000 donation to its general scholarship fund.

Colonel fans are encouraged to visit the website to learn how to earn points for EKU, stay up to date on the latest Spirit Cup standings and register to win an all-expenses-paid trip to the inaugural CFP National Championship game. The winner will receive round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, a $500 American Express gift card, and two tickets to the game, courtesy of the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) and the CFP.

Colonel fans can earn additional entries in the CFP sweepstakes by supporting Eastern in the Spirit Cup competition. Once registered for the CFP sweepstakes, each action that a fan takes to support EKU in the competition earns additional sweepstakes entries and increases the chances of winning. Eligible actions include:
