EKU Earns Two Awards in National Advertising Competition

Eastern Kentucky University has received two awards in Higher Education Marketing Report’s 27th annual Educational Advertising Awards competition.

A University billboard campaign received a bronze award and the EKU website was recognized with a merit award.

The EKU website design, unveiled in 2010, was spearheaded by the University’s Creative Services, housed in the Division of Information Technology, and Enrollment Management. An advisory group with members from across campus now helps maintain and update content and design.

“Believe in You,” a series of billboards focusing on individual EKU colleges, was created by EKU’s Student Services Marketing.

The Educational Advertising Awards is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, more than 2,900 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Judges for the awards consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report.

It is a product of HMR Publications, a source for marketing news and information from around the nation in the fields of higher education and healthcare marketing.
