EKU Well Represented in KABHE Elections, Awards
Eastern Kentucky University was well represented among the leadership elections and awards at the recent 2015 Kentucky Association of Blacks in Higher Education Conference.
Serving on the KABHE Executive Board are: Dr. DeNeia Thomas, associate professor, Counseling and Educational Psychology, 2015 president; Felisa Wilson, student recruitment specialist, Admissions Office, corresponding secretary; Dr. Sheila Pressley, associate professor, Environmental Health Science, faculty representative; and Ashley Offutt-Williams, graduate student, Student Personnel Services in Higher Education, Southeast representative.
Also, Dr. Sherwood Thompson, interim chief diversity officer, Diversity and Inclusion Office, and professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, was presented the 2015 Dr. Joseph McMillan Outstanding Faculty Award; and Dr. Aaron Thompson, professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, received the 2015 Wendell Thomas Humanitarian and Service Award. Thompson also serves as executive vice president and chief academic officer for the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
Dr. Roger Cleveland, associate professor, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, was named an External Affairs member.
