First-Line Supervision Courses Offered throughout Area
Eastern Kentucky University will offer its First Line Supervision Certificate Program this Spring semester with courses in Richmond, Corbin, Manchester and Somerset.
The program, designed as a bridge between technical skills and supervising others to enhance overall company performance, is helpful for new supervisors, those without formal training and workers who hope to move into a supervisory role.
The three-day Basic Core Concepts I course is slated for Feb. 19, Feb. 26 and March 5 in Richmond and Feb. 17, Feb. 24 and March 3 in Corbin. Participants will then select an additional 18 hours (three days) of elective seminars to complete the Basic Supervision Certificate program. The elective seminars may be taken as part of the Certificate Program, or as a stand-alone professional development activity. Some of the elective courses are also available in Manchester and Somerset.
Graduates may choose to continue to the Advanced Supervision Certificate Program. The second phase of the program requires the three-day Advanced Core Concepts II course, which is scheduled for May 14, 21 and 28 in Richmond and May 12, 19 and 26 in Corbin. Participants will again choose an additional 18 hours of electives to complete the Advanced Supervision Certificate program.
