EKU Employee Wellness Health Fair
Hundreds of faculty, staff and students converged on the Keen Johnson building to take part in the 2019 EKU Employee Wellness Health Fair. Participation was the word of the day, with biometric screenings for skin cancers, kidney function, blood pressure, blood type, glucose levels and many more. A prick of the finger and a blood pressure cuff let participants know if they were doing okay or had some issues they may need to address, and some helpful advice on where to get those services was provided.
Vendors of all kinds handed out swag to the fair goers, while letting patrons know what services they could provide. Hospitals, clinics, mental health providers, physical therapists, chiropractors and even podiatrists gave free checkups and advice to the hundreds who came.
Door prizes were donated from each vendor, in lieu of set up fees, and active participants names were drawn after the event! Prizes this year included an iPad, several $100 gift cards, Fit Bits and lots of product from the vendors.
