Departmental Assignment Guidelines
Departmental rules/guideline for assigning advisors by program, minor, or certificate reside in a Google document and the only individuals with access to this document are the Department Chair and Administrative Assistant. This is a view only document and maintained by the Office of Advising and Career Services.
View or Update Departmental Advisor Assignment Rules
To access your departmental rules or to request an update to your departmental rules access the Departmental Update Form. Once you select College and Department a link to your departmental rules will appear and link you to the Google Document. If you would like to request access to the document, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would just like to request an update to one student or a group of 10 or fewer students due to errors or recent major changes you can submit that below.

Retired/ Sabbatical/ Discontinue of Advisor Assignments
If a faculty member has recently retired or left the Faculty Advisor role and will no longer be assigned to students, email email@example.com to make a mass update to all students currently assigned to this faculty member to ensure that students are appropriately assigned. or make appropriate adjustments on the Departmental Update Form and include a note indicating that the current assignments for the faculty member should be reassigned and who they should be assigned to.

An advisor ssignment is made under two circumstance: A student is newly admitted to EKU and needs an advisor assignment OR a student has changed/added a major/minor/certificate/concentration. The processing timelines for both circumstances are outlined below.
