EKU Football Legend Coach Roy Kidd Passes Away at 91
College football has lost one of its all-time legends, and Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) one of its most beloved and accomplished sons. Roy Kidd passed away Sept. 12, 2023, at 91 years old.

2023 Homecoming
EKU came to life in a spectacle of maroon and white during Homecoming 2023. The festivities kicked off on Thursday, Oct. 12, when EKU students came together for the annual Colonel Corn Roast in Powell Plaza, followed by Eastern’s Got Talent—displaying an array of talented students. On Friday, Main Street transformed into a lively canvas, where EKU’s legacy paraded proudly through town. Moving to Water Street, the HOCO Block Party echoed the enthusiasm of EKU’s passionate community.
