Contract Review

Pursuant to Administrative Regulation: 6.2.2ADR, all contracts must be reviewed by the Office of University Counsel for approval prior to signature by a University designee. Failure to obtain proper review can leave the person who signs the contract at personal liability.

To ensure contracts are reviewed promptly, please submit a Contract Review Request Form.

NOTE:

  • All contracts involving purchase of goods or services must be processed by Purchasing prior to Counsel’s review. Should you need to submit your contract to Purchasing, you can do so by emailing adm.purchasing@eku.edu.
  • If you need to submit an executed contract (one that has been approved and signed by all parties),  please email it to ContractReview@eku.edu instead of submitting a Contract Review Request form.

After you have submitted the form, you will receive a confirmation email from Asana. If you would like additional information about Asana Ticket Engagement, you may see an overview from EKU IT here.

Await Confirmation and Review

  • Once the review is complete, staff will either (1) upload the edited document directly to the Asana task for you to download or (2) they will mark the task as approved and complete.
    • In both cases, the individual who submitted the form will automatically receive an email notification with the update. 
  • If additional information or clarification is needed, a staff member may reach out by commenting on the Asana task or via email.  You may reply to the comment in Asana or to the email.

Important Notes:

  • Please allow at least 14 days for standard contract review. More complex agreements may require additional time.
