The goal of the EKU Research Faculty Fellowship program is to foster growth in research engagement by faculty and students (both graduate and undergraduate). The fellows are central to EKU’s strategic research investment, aimed at building a holistic and scalable infrastructure to support the growth of sponsored research for faculty, staff and students across the university.
While the vast array of opportunities for these positions will be continuously evaluated to ensure maximum impact, the fellows will conduct targeted outreach to ensure awareness of research and funding opportunities through presentations, written communications, and other strategies. Additionally, the fellows will ensure that faculty and students understand the research infrastructure that is available at EKU to include Sponsored Programs and Research Administration, Sponsored Programs Accounting, and a variety of programs, initiatives, and services. They will serve as mentors and chair funding committees to support the target audiences. Finally, fellows will ensure that research success is celebrated by the university community and external constituent groups.
Three veteran faculty members have been selected to serve as fellows for the 2025/2026 academic year.
One initiative of the fellows will be the development of an ongoing Research Professional Development Series for Faculty and Students. This initiative will feature a collaboration with the EKU Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning as well as EKU Libraries. More information will be made available in September 2025 on this site and also on the FCTL site.
