Student Spotlight: Mr. Brannan Campbell

Mr. Brannan Campbell came to Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) from Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He attended Johnson Central High School where he participated in numerous extracurricular activities including academics, soccer, and tennis. At EKU, Mr. Campbell is currently working towards a B.S. degree in Environmental and Applied Geology.

“I chose to come to EKU for several reasons, the main one being location. I love that it has a small town feel while being close to bigger cities like Lexington and Louisville. I also like that I can get home in about 2 hours. Another reason that I chose EKU is because the campus is well laid out.

Finally, I chose EKU because they have a great Geology program.” He also received the merit tier 1 scholarship from EKU, which is for eligible Kentucky residents.

Outside of class, Mr. Campbell is a member of the Geology club and the EKU Honors program. Additionally, he enjoys spending time in the gym and playing video games with friends. “I have learned how to balance my time between working on schoolwork and doing other things much more effectively than I used to be able to,” he said.

Mr. Campbell’s favorite EKU memory is hanging out with friends at the Flo Rida concert on campus last fall. After graduation, Mr. Campbell hopes to find a career in Geology that will allow him to work outdoors.
