- Dr. Stanley (he/him/his) began his role as Director of the EKUCC in 2022. Prior to that he served as Associate Director of EKUCC for seven years. He started at EKU as a Staff Psychologist in the Counseling Center in 2007. He earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Florida and completed his doctoral internship at the University of Florida Counseling Center. Along the way he has worked in a number of community mental health agencies, including five years at the Alachua County Crisis Center in Gainesville, FL. His theoretical orientation is an ever-evolving integration of Humanistic, Existential, and Mindfulness-Based approaches. His professional interests include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, men’s issues, identity concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression, and couples counseling.
