- Marisa (she/her/hers) is a practicum student at EKUCC for the 2025–2026 year. She is currently in her fourth year of EKU’s clinical psychology doctoral program and received her master’s in clinical psychology in May 2024. She anticipates earning her Psy.D. in May 2027. Her theoretical orientation is primarily cognitive-behavioral, informed by trauma-focused and feminist perspectives. She views the client as the expert in their own experiences and sees the therapist’s role as that of a guide and supporter. Her professional interests include working with trauma survivors (e.g., survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault), identity development, anxiety, depression, OCD, and chronic pain. Marisa is half Puerto Rican and speaks proficient Spanish.
