Dr. Jade Robinson: Associate Professor, CTP
Of the hundreds of Thank-a-Professor notes submitted last fall, Dr. Jade Robinson stood out among the rest and was awarded the inaugural Thank-a-Professor Excellence Award. She has a passion for teaching, dedication to students, and commitment to excellence that inspires us all.
Undergraduate Mentor of the Month
Dr. Angela Dial: Assistant Professor, AHS
Dr. Angela Dial was nominated by peers and students to recognize her success in mentorship work both inside and outside of the classroom. Her dedication to mentorships shines through in all her work.
Finalist for the President’s Excellence in Research Award
Dr. Maria Bane: Associate Professor, CTP
Dr. Maria Bane is a prolific scholar whose impactful research on vocal function promotes accessibility and wellness for individuals and greater understanding for clinicians. She has demonstrated excellence in research by being recognized nationally for her work, disseminating important research through publishing and presentations, and mentoring students in research.
Outstanding Instructor for First Year Courses
Dr. Rebecca Crawford: Assistant Professor, AHS
Dr. Rebecca Crawford was selected for this award because of the genuine care and support she provides to her students. She creates a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable, valued, and confident as they adjust to college life. Students shared that she checked in on them, connected them to resources across campus, and made sure they knew they had someone in their corner who truly cared about their success
Innovation in Teaching
Adria Thompson: Clinical Assistant Professor, CTP
Dr. Adria Thompson brings real-world experiences to students through her courses. Her goal is to not only help students understand medical speech-language pathology but also to feel more prepared to step into those spaces with confidence and compassion. She uses creative approaches to design innovation into her courses through clinical storytelling, making complex concepts approachable for students. She has designed medical simulation labs, used Artificial Intelligence, and developed online educational resources to support student learners.
Dr. Jerry Pogatshnik Graduate Faculty Award
Dr. Todd McCardle: Professor, School of Education
Dr. Todd McCardle demonstrates excellence in graduate-level teaching across doctoral and master’s programs. His approach to graduate education promotes research and scholarly activity through collaboration with students. He regularly mentors students as they undertake conference proposals, prepare manuscripts, and manage research projects and processes. He chairs dissertation committees and brings a mentorship approach to this important work.
We also want to recognize those who were given Essential Skills awards and are serving as Faculty Innovators. These individuals have worked tirelessly to improve our college and help our students grow to their fullest potential. Congratulations to all of our faculty!
