Telepsychology Clinic

In-person visits at the EKU Psychology Clinic are currently not possible in response to health concerns caused by COVID-19. Current clients are eligible to schedule treatment services with a clinician through the Telepsychology Clinic. New client applications for therapy are now being accepted. The clinic is not currently accepting new assessment cases. Please check back for updates as this is subject to change.

We are in the process of contacting current clients through a private number or email to offer the option of shifting meetings to virtual therapy appointments. If you have not heard from your clinician please answer private calls, check your phone settings to make sure it does not automatically block private calls, and check your email. Clients are still able to leave a message at the Psychology Clinic phone at 859-622-2356. Our clinic secretary will process and send these messages to the assigned clinician. To maintain confidentiality and privacy, clients are not able to contact their clinician directly at this time, but we are working on a system that will help facilitate more direct contact with clinicians.

The EKU Telepsychology Clinic provides clients with the same high quality mental health services they are accustomed to receiving during in-person visits through a secure, web-based, videoconferencing platform. Each individual case is screened by a clinician and a licensed clinical faculty supervisor to determine whether telepsychology is a good fit for that case.

Telepsychology Session

Technology Used

Sessions are being conducted through Zoom Health Care, a secure, encrypted, HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based electronic telepsychology platform that is designed for delivering healthcare. Zoom Health Care can be accessed through a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smartphone. No software downloads are required and the service is delivered through most common internet browsers available. All that is typically required is to give your web browser permission to access your device’s web cam and microphone to help facilitate the meeting with a clinician.
