A: Several factors impacted the university’s ability to host commencement on campus in May of 2024. Due to construction at Alumni Coliseum set to begin March 2024, unpredictable weather at outdoor venues such as Roy Kidd Stadium and limited seating at the EKU Center for the Arts, the commencement planning committee chose Alltech Arena as the perfect option for Spring 2024 Commencement.
Q: If I graduate in December 2023 or after winter term, can I wait and go to this Spring 2024 commencement ceremony?
A: No. Fall 2023 graduates include those completing their coursework in December 2023 and the subsequent winter term. Winter term students will finish up their remaining coursework after the Fall 2023 Commencement. If you choose to participate in commencement, you have to attend your assigned ceremony.
Q: I see online that the Kentucky Horse Park hosts equine and other events inside Alltech Arena on a dirt floor. Will the floor be dirt at Spring 2024 Commencement?
A: No, the dirt floor is only used during specific events. The floor will not be dirt at the Spring 2024 Commencement ceremony.
Q: Will there be ADA seating?
