Fall Commencement Honors 1,444 Degree Candidates

Eastern Kentucky University recognized 1,444 degree candidates at its annual Fall Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 14.

A morning ceremony recognized degree candidates from the Colleges of Education, Health Sciences and Justice & Safety. The afternoon ceremony honored candidates from the Colleges of Arts & Sciences and Business & Technology.

Virtual Economics Resource Available for Free to Area K-12 Teachers

The Eastern Kentucky University Center for Economic Education, with support from the Council on Economic Education and State Farm, is collaborating with similar centers at Northern Kentucky University and Morehead State University to provide training and free copies of the Virtual Economics 4.0 Flash Drive (a $109.95 value) to K-12 teachers in schools throughout the region.

Benson among Leaders Heading Effort to Help Appalachian Kentucky Move Forward

Eastern Kentucky University President Michael Benson is among 41 leaders from education, government and business heading a comprehensive and bipartisan effort aimed at “Shaping Our Appalachian Region.”

That’s the title for a recently announced initiative to help Kentucky’s Appalachian region move forward in the face of continued declines in the coal industry.
