Benson, President's Council Accept ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

On a warm and muggy summer afternoon, Eastern Kentucky University President Michael Benson and five members of the President’s Council found a way to stay cool and at the same time raise awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Perlick Named Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations

Nicholas J. Perlick has been named Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations at Eastern Kentucky University.

Since 2009, Perlick has served as Director of Development at Middle Tennessee State University, where he has played a leading role in a centennial campaign that is poised to exceed its revised goal with more than a year remaining.

Division of Natural Areas to Receive Statewide Organization of Year Award

The Division of Natural Areas at Eastern Kentucky University has learned that it will receive the 2014 Outstanding Organization Award presented by the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education.

Representatives of the Division will be on hand to receive the honor at the Association’s fall conference on Sept. 13 in Lexington.

Lead Gift from Dizneys Supports Multi-Purpose Facility

Eastern Kentucky University Athletics has received its largest single gift.

EKU President Michael Benson has announced that Donald R. and Irene Dizney, of Ocala, Fla., have committed a lead cash gift toward a $15 million multi-purpose facility to replace the current grandstands on the east side of Roy Kidd Stadium.
