Eastern Kentucky University’s Stateland Dairy at Meadowbrook Farm has a long history of excellence and awards.
Now, one of its residents has been named honorable mention All-American Cow in the Milking Yearling class. Only six cows nationally were nominated for All-American honors.
A series of events at Eastern Kentucky University March 13-19 comprise “World War One: Remembrance and Reflection.”

Eastern Kentucky University graduate student Jennifer Naumovitz, of Lebanon, N.J., has received a 2015 Kokes Award sponsored by the North American Catalysis Society.
The second edition of “(re)Tracing Africa: A Multidisciplinary Study of African History, Societies and Culture,” co-edited by EKU faculty members Dr. Ogechi Anyanwu and Dr. Salome Nnoromele, contains an article by Anyanwu on “Islam and Islamic Revivalism in Africa.”
The EKU faculty-student team of Dr. Gary Ritchison, professor of biological sciences, and Joshua Suich, Morristown, Tenn., received one of eight research grants recently awarded by the Kentucky Academy of Science.
The grant for Ritchison and Suich was for a project entitled “Possible functions of tail-pumping by male and female American Kestrels.”
This year’s Live @ Your Library Women’s History Month Series at Eastern Kentucky University will spotlight “Kentucky’s Women: Leadership and Legacy.”
