Presenter
Amanda R. Smith is a professor of interpreting studies at Western Oregon University, where she uses her 25 years of professional experience to teach, coach, and inspire pre-interpreting students, working professionals, and interpreter educators. Over the years, Amanda has studied the application of reflective practices in the field of interpreting. Additional areas of research interest include the development of interpreting skills in students and newer interpreters. This year, she has added professional coaching to her skillset – through formal training and supervised practice, becoming a credentialed professional coach. When she’s not teaching or coaching, she is likely to be painting and/or leading reflective art experiences.
