Approved Generative AI Platforms
The current approved Generative AI platforms for Eastern Kentucky University are Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and Google Gemini. When utilized with your EKU username and password, there are greater data protections in place than when being used with non-EKU credentials. You must ensure you are always using your EKU credentials.
AI Use Policy
Eastern Kentucky University’s policy governing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the workplace is outlined in Administrative Regulation 11.2.7, Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace. This regulation provides guidance for responsible, ethical, and secure use of AI technologies by all members of the University community.
Protection of EKU Data
Users must not enter any Personally Identifiable Information, other confidential information, or proprietary data into AI tools. Remove data from files that is not needed or use some of the following methods of data handling to reduce risk of over exposure.
Unapproved Tools
The use of these tools is discouraged due to concerns relating to data privacy, security compliance, academic integrity, or other nefarious things. The absence of a tool in this list does not make it approved.
