Housing: Closing

IMPORTANT: All halls will close at 10 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Students are expected to move out 24 hours after their last final.

Checking Out

Option 1: Check Out with Hall Staff

  • The Hall Staff member that assists during checkouts where students are present does not determine damage charges.
  • An assessment of potential damages and/or charges is not provided when completing a checkout this way.
  • This is an opportunity to point out or explain any damages. The Hall Staff member will note any explanations received.

Option 2: Express Checkout

  • Visit the front desk and follow posted instructions to complete an Express Checkout.
  • Completing an Express Checkout waives the right to appeal any damages and associated charges found when the room is assessed.

Late Stay

Students can request a Late Stay through the Housing Portal under ‘Important Forms’. The Late Stay cost is $100 and covers up to one week beginning the day the halls close.

Damages

Per the University Housing Contract, upon inspection residents are assessed damage charges for any damages to the unit, its fixtures, and/or any appliances and furniture identified in the Room Condition Inventory (RCI) Report Form completed at the beginning of occupancy.

Failure to complete the RCI form or report damages on the RCI form correctly does not excuse residents from returning the room to the condition at initial occupancy or from any subsequent charges assessed by Housing & Residence Life.

Summer Housing

The Summer Housing Application opens April 1. The application, dates, rates, and other important information for Summer Housing can be found in the Housing Portal.
